SARAH MEIER - CHILDREN'S MINISTRY sarah@c3stockbridge.org
Hello! My name is Sarah Meier (Poszywak), Crossroad’s Children’s Minister! I have been blessed with the opportunity to share the love of God with the children and families of our church and community. As for a little about my history, I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was in elementary school. I learned more about God at home and at my church growing up. I moved to Stockbridge in 2001, which was when I first started attending First Baptist Church of Stockbridge (now Crossroads Community Church of Stockbridge). In 2003, I was baptized in our church and attended leadership trainings at various youth events throughout high school. I attended college at EMU for two years studying Fine Arts while working at the EMU Children’s Institute. I married my husband in 2009, who was stationed in North Carolina with the Marine Corps. While in North Carolina, I served as a youth leader for middle school girls at Discovery Church, and I worked as a teacher at a childcare center. My husband, Dustin, changed military stations in 2013, and then he was medically separated in 2014, bringing us back to Michigan. When we returned, we started attending Crossroads again and I started working at Morning Star Childcare in Dexter. I worked there for seven years and completed an Associates degree in Child Development in 2021. I currently stay home with our three wonderful children: Annabelle (9), Ricky (7), and Logan (1). I accepted the position as Children’s Minister here at Crossroads in January 2021, and I am incredibly grateful to be serving our Lord in this way. Through my experience with children, I have come to believe that children learn best in a safe, consistent, trusting environment that they can learn by exploring in a variety of ways. They need people that love them, are accepting, and are patient with their development and personalities to help guide them. “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him. Psalm 127:3.” I want to build a team of leaders that show each child that they are treasured in the eyes of Christ. They should be filled by the love of God while at church. The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6” The earlier we share the gospel and Word of God with our children, the better chances they will live for Him their whole lives. As a united body of Christ, we choose to love God, love one another, and make disciples. Please pray with me as we apply this mission to our children’s ministry. I look forward to partnering up and building relationships with you as we grow closer to God.
“Go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all I’ve commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20”
With much love and excitement,
Sarah
